Saturday's girls' volleyball roundup: Red Lion sweeps its tri-match with Red Land, Eastern York

RED LION WINS ITS OWN TRI-MATCH >> The Lions won their tri-match with a pair of 3-0 victories against Red Land and Eastern York.

Red Lion opened with a 25-17, 25-7, 25-11 victory against Eastern York. Lindsey Blevins led the way for the Lions with 11 kills, while Logan Dontell added nine kills and five blocks.

The Lions wrapped up a perfect day with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-11 win against Red Land. Again, Blevins led the offense with 11 kills and Dontell chipped in nine kills. Rachel Goff dished out a total of 50 assists for the Lions over the two games.

The Patriots picked up a 3-1 win against the Golden Knights, 25-22, 27-25, 18-25, 25-10. Red Land was led by Sammy Freese who had 14 kills and Corrine Silvio who had 12. Eastern was led by Brianna Wells who had five kills, six on the day.

DALLASTOWN SPLITS AT QUAD MATCH >> The Wildcats went 1-1 at the quad match they hosted with Solanco, Waynesboro and Cedar Cliff.

Dallastown opened with a sweep of Solanco, 25-16, 25-22, 25-13. And the Wildcats followed with a three-game loss to Waynesboro, 25-22, 25-15, 31-29.

No stats were reported.

Cedar Cliff beat Solanco in the other match, 3-1.

DELONE CATHOLIC SPLITS AT TRI-MATCH >> The Squirettes suffered their first loss of the season, splitting a tri-match at home.

Delone opened the day with a sweep of Kennard-Dale, 25-18, 25-13, 25-12. Sarah Senft led the way for Delone as she drilled 13 kills and made five blocks.

In the Squirettes' second game, they pushed Delaware Military Academy to the limit but came up just short, 30-28, 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-7.

Senft again led the way for her team as she knocked 14 kills . Amber Johnson and Lilly Singleton chipped in 11 kills for Delone

In the other matchup, Delaware swept Kennard-Dale.
