York Suburban cross country sweeps the field Tuesday


The York Suburban boys' and girls' cross country teams continued their strong 2015 seasons with standout performances Tuesday at Fairfield High School.

The boys' squad cruised to a 4-0 meet record, as they claimed the top-three spots.

Peter Wagner led the way for Suburban as he took first with a time of 17:28.9. He was followed by Bryce Ohl who crossed the line second with a time of 17:35.9 and third-place finisher Donovan Mears, who crossed at 17:42.4.

Red Lion's Alex Miller finished in fourth place with a time of 17:43.6, as the Lions finished the day with a 3-1 record.

South Western held a 2-2 mark Tuesday, followed by Bermudian Springs at 1-3 and Fairfield at 0-4.

On the girls' side, York Suburban again swept the competition with a 4-0 record as Olivia Gettle finished in first place with a 20:43.7.

Cecilia Lantz was the next Trojans runner to cross the line, as she came in third with a time of 21:55.4. Emma Trout, Sarah Murray and Lindsey Flemmens also finished in the top 10 for Suburban.

Red Lion again came in second place with a 3-1 record as Tristan Schluderberg took second individually with a time of 21:23.4. Bryn Trout was the Lions' second-highest finisher with a 14th-place time of 22:59.3. She was followed by teammate Leah Taylor, who finished in 23:01.4.

South Western picked up a 2-2 record followed by Bermudian Springs at 1-3 and the Green Knights again went winless at 0-4.

Both York Suburban's boys' and girls' cross country teams currently hold 11-0 records on the season following Tuesday's sweeps.
