Saturday's boys' soccer roundup: Bermudian Springs records shutout against Fairfield


Here are Saturday's York/Adams boys' soccer results.

BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 8, FAIRFIELD 0 >> After an even tilt for the first 12 minutes, the Eagles found the net off a set piece and took control of the game from there. Johnny King knocked in a goal to spark the scoring, and he assisted on goals by Samuel Johnson and Jake Halfman to give Bermudian a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The offensive pressure continued throughout the second half. David Guiterrez, Johnson, Francisco Rios, King and Alfonso Lopez each found the back of the net for the final margin.

The Eagles' defense, led by Dylan Lott and keeper Daniel Alvarez, kept the Green Knights off the board to keep a clean sheet.

HAMBURG TOURNAMENT >> In a tight tournament, Eastern York went 1-1, losing to host Hamburg in penalty kicks before defeating Muhlenberg in overtime of the consolation.

In the opening contest, the Hawks and Golden Knights battled to a 1-1 tie after 100 minutes before the hosts prevailed 5-4 in PK's to advance to the finals. Dalton Leik scored for the Knights. In the other opening-round contest, Wyomissing defeated Muhlenberg, 4-3 in PK's after a 1-1 tie.

In the consolation match, the Golden Knights received another regulation goal by Leik before Tyler Winter scored the winner against the Muhls.

GETTYSBURG 3, DOVER 1 >> Drew Riggle scored a pair of first half goals, leading the Warriors to a victory over the Eagles. Riggle's goals came within 52 seconds as he scored his first with 6:40 to play in the half and his second with 5:48 that pushed the lead to 3-0.
