Thursday's girls' track and field roundup: Central York, Red Lion, Dallastown, South Western compete at Penn Relays

Here are Thursday's York/Adams girls' track and field results.

PENN RELAYS >> Four local teams participated in the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, competing in the 400 relay and 1,600 relay. Central York, Red Lion and South Western sent a team for each event, while Dallastown competed only in the 400 relay.

Central York's 400 relay team of Amaya Brown, Sarah Smolko, Jordan Dubbs and Kennedy Little finished in 52.74 seconds, good for 149th in the 247-team field. A team from Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica took first in 46.26. Red Lion's Glori Keough, Jayla Godfrey, Lena Hoschen and Johnnie Tamny finished 192nd in 54.39. South Western DQ'ed after a collision with another team.

In the 523-team 1,600 relay, Dallastown's team of Taylor Forrester, Emma Kange, Haven Evans and Amari Johnson posted the best time of the three local teams, finishing in 90th place in 4:09.28. Red Lion finished in 181st place as the team of Godfrey, Jessica Lewis, Angelica Gonzalez and Julia Kendrick came across in 4:15.27. South Western's quartet of Lynne Mooradian, Madelyn Swanner, Katie Snyder and Samantha Trone finished in 199th with a time of 4:14.18. Central York's quartet of Celina Dickison, Natalie Shearer, Little and DeJanee Fells came across the line in 4:18.36, good for 247th place. St. Jago High School in Jamaica had the best time after the heats, finishing in 3:46.54
