Three YAIAA golfers in top 10 after PIAA first round


Three YAIAA golfers are poised in the top 10 at the end of the first round of the PIAA tournaments on Monday at Heritage Hills.

Dallastown senior Blake Sebring finished the day in a two-way tie for eighth place, and Central York senior Joe Parrini ended the round in a two-way for 10th place in the boys’ 3A tournament. Central York junior Julianne Lee finished the first round of the girls’ 3A tournament in a two-way tie for third place.

Sebring carded the best round for any YAIAA golfer with a 3-over 74. Lee posted a 3-over 75, and Parrini shot a 6-over 77.

Central York freshman Carson Bacha concluded the first round of the 3A state tournament in a tie for 13th with a 7-over 78. Dallastown junior Evan Greenplate sits in 28th place with a 11-over 82, and Spring Grove senior Luke Hoffnagle ended the day with a 14-over 85 for 35th place.

York Catholic senior Andrew Forjan shot a 14-over 85 in the 2A tournament to finish the round in 24th place.

The PIAA individual golf tournament concludes on Tuesday at Heritage Hills.
