Roundup: Northeastern beats Dover for first time

Northeastern 95, Dover 91: The Bobcats needed the final event of the home meet, the 400 freestyle relay, to get their first win in school history over the Eagles.

Northeastern secured the meet win by finishing first and third in the final race. The team of Lauren Mummert, Katie Mummert, Ona Sutton and Abby Braswell hit the wall at 4:00.95 to win the event.

Dover’s second-place team came in with a time of 4:03.30 followed by the third-place Northeastern squad at 4:19.96.

Lauren Mummert also had two individual first places in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle.

Dallastown 137, Red Lion 39: Sydney Hoover, Jena Woods an dKacey Oberlander led the Wildcats to the big win at home as Dallastown clinched the YAIAA Division I title outright. It is the 12th straight division championship for the Wildcats.

Hoover won the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, while Woods claimed the 200 and 100 freestyle races. Oberlander won the 200 IM and 500 freestyle. All three girls also swam on two winning relays.

Central York 122, South Western 63: Mackenzie Sopko led the Panthers to the road win with wins in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

The Panthers also swept all three relays with Sopko a member of the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
