Saturday's girls' soccer roundup: Mummert scores only goal as Susquehannock beats York Suburban


Susquehannock goalie Ashley Stone stopped all eight shots she faced as the Warriors beat York Suburban, 1-0, in Saturday's YAIAA Division II girls' soccer action.

Maddi Mummert scored the lone goal of the contest at the 37 minute mark of the second half as the Warriors were outshot, 8-7. The Trojans also racked up a 5-1 edge in corners. Morgan Taylor stopped six shots in the loss.

Susquehannock improved to 5-0 in the division, while Suburban dropped to 2-2-1.

WEST YORK 6, EASTERN YORK 2 >> Elle Stine scored three goals, leading the host Bulldogs to a Division II win.

Stine's second goal gave the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead before the Golden Knights scored twice in the final four minutes of the second half close the gap to 3-2.

But West York didn't allow Eastern to score in the second half. Stine capped her hat trick at 60:48, and Alyssa Narber and Allie Becker also scored for the Bulldogs.

Northeastern's Amanda Bentz opened scoring at 28:07 of the first half before Natalie Aldrich's penalty kick at 12:13 knotted the score. Northeastern's Camryn Burnham added an insurance goal with 23:13 to play.

The Bobcats' Heather Brinker had two assists, and Arentz assisted on the other goal.

Abby Searfoss assisted Frey's tying goal, and Alexa Byer assisted the game winner. Abby Monko also scored for Northern.

Natalie Gettle and Carsyn Gold both scored for Dallastown, which was outshot 12-4. Northern also held a 4-1 margin in corners.
