Fink sisters team up, take Dover to title

The Dover girls' basketball team opened the season in style, winning the Northern York tip-off tournament in convincing fashion.

Friday the team downed Northern York, 48-27, and Saturday the Eagles won the championship over Hershey, 53-33.

While Friday's opener the team got off to a slow start, that was far from the case Saturday according to head coach Kevin Glover.

The Eagles jumped out to a double-digit lead early, according to Glover, and then adjusted well when Hershey went to a zone defense.

"Our flow continued," Glover said. "We had a good night offensively. It was pretty tough to defend us."

More specifically, it was tough to slow down Rayah and Rajah Fink. The sisters teamed up to carry the Eagles both days. While Rayah, a senior, scored 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the win over Northern York on Friday, she put together a 19-point, five-rebound performance Saturday that included three 3-pointers and two steals.

Rajah, a junior, took home tournament MVP. After a 19-point, 18-rebound effort Friday, she scored 10 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out four assists in Saturday's championship win.

"They dominated both games," Glover said.
