William Penn to honor teammate with helmet decal

The William Penn football team will honor junior varsity player Eugene Hillian prior to Saturday's game against New Oxford, according to school athletic director Ron Coursey.

Hillian was shot and killed Tuesday night on the 400 block of Girard Avenue in York city. He was a senior at William Penn and played on the junior varsity football team, according to head coach Russ Stoner.

In a text message to GameTimePA, Coursey wrote the school will present the Hillian family with a special plaque and flowers. He said there will also be a moment of silence before the game and that Bearcat players will wear decals on their helmet with Hillian's No. 80 emblazoned on the sticker.

It will be senior day throughout the entire Bearcats football program, and all upperclassmen will be honored prior to the noon kickoff.

Both the Bearcats and Colonials are searching for their first wins of the season entering Saturday's contest.
