Looking for an NFL game to watch Sunday?

If you're from York or Adams county, the New Orleans Saints at the New York Giants 1 p.m. contest is a must-watch.

Dover High School and Shippensburg University graduate John Kuhn will start for the Saints at fullback, and New Oxford High School and California University of Pennsylvania graduate Erik Harris will suit up as a defensive back. William Penn High School graduate Will Beatty could see some action on the Giants' offensive line.

Sunday's game will not be televised locally but will be available on DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket.

New Orleans, which went 7-9 last season, lost to the Oakland Raiders by one point last week after giving up a game-winning two-point conversion. New York also played a one-point game last week, edging the Dallas Cowboys.

Kuhn and Harris are with the Saints for the first time. Kuhn joins the team after nine years with the Green Bay Packers and two years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning a Super Bowl with each team. Harris is brand new to the NFL after playing three years in the Canadian Football League.

Beatty was drafted by the Giants in 2009 and remains with the team. He missed last season with an injury and was released in February, but resigned with New York last month.

Kuhn and Harris sat together at lunch one day this summer, reminiscing and sharing stories about growing up in southcentral Pennsylvania, Harris said.

“It’s really cool to see," he said of sharing that hometown connection with a teammate. "(Kuhn) has a lot of experience in this league and he’s a great person to talk to.”

Both players have been back to York County to share their stories with young athletes in the last six months. Harris spoke at the Hanover Area YMCA in April and Kuhn spoke at the GameTimePA Athletes of the Year Awards banquet in June.

Kuhn signed with the Saints as an unrestricted free agent last month. Harris signed in February and hopes the perseverance it took to receive his first NFL contract three years after he graduated college resonates with young athletes back home.

“Football in the NFL is obviously a big icon sports for kids to look up to," Harris said. "Kids these days wear certain clothes in games according to the players that they watch. Kids are always trying to do Odell Beckham catches and stuff like that. It’s a huge platform and I think it’s huge to show that, no matter what, if you believe in yourself and work hard at it every day, it will happen.”
