Reading runs away from William Penn


William Penn fell behind by two scores before pulling within two points of Reading High, only to watch the Red Knights’ Michael Hibbert rush for his third touchdown run of the night.

Reading held on for a 35-24 non-conference victory in the a  season-opening game.

Coming off a winless season, William Penn pulled within 14-12 before Hibbert ran for a 44-yard score.

William Penn threw for 232 yards and rushed for 159 yards in the loss. William Penn held Reading to zero passing yards, but the Red Knights won behind the strength of their 287 yards rushing. Dejour Stewart scored three touchdowns for William Penn. He rushed for 105 yards and also caught a touchdown.
