Athlete of the Year

Luke Hoffman, West York, sr. 

Hoffman won his second straight YAIAA discus title before dominating the event at the District 3 Class 3A championships. The Bulldogs senior won the event with a throw of 186 feet, 11 inches and beat the next closest competitor by more than eight feet. He finished his career by taking third at the state championships with a throw of 185-8.


FIRST-TEAM ALL-STARS

Greg Potter, Red Lion, sr.

Potter overcame an offseason foot injury to win his second straight YAIAA title in the pole vault. He then took second in the District 3 Class 3A meet with a mark of 14 feet, nine inches and finished his career with a fourth-place medal at the state championships by vaulting 14-6. 


Ralph Casper, York Suburban, sr. 

Casper won the league title in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet, one inch and took fourth in Class 3A at districts with a toss of 53 feet, nine inches. But he saved his best for last, setting a personal record at states with a mark of 53 feet, 10 inches that took ninth. 


Ryan Curfman, Bermudian Springs, jr. 

Curfman won the District 3 Class 2A title in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.94 seconds. He was also part of Bermudian's 400-meter relay, which took second at the league and District 3 meets.  


Dominic Eyler, Red Lion, sr.

Eyler won gold in the 110-hurdles at the league meet with a time of 14.75 seconds. He took fifth at the District 3 Class 3A meet in 14.72 seconds and reached the semifinals at the PIAA Championships. 


Brady Glatfelter, Eastern York, sr.

Glatfelter took second in the pole vault at the league meet and finished third in Class 3A at districts with a mark of 14 feet, nine inches, the same mark as Red Lion's Greg Potter. He finished ninth at the state championships with a vault of 14 feet.


Trevor Grim, Bermudian Springs, sr. 

Grim sustained a hamstring injury at the league championships but still managed to finish second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.79 seconds. He took second in the event at the District 3 Class 2A meet and capped his career with a fourth-place medal at states. He also finished third in the 300- meter hurdles at districts. 


Liam Hafner, New Oxford, jr. 

After finishing third in the triple jump at the league meet, Hafner leaped an impressive 44 feet, eight inches at the District 3 Class 3A meet to finish fourth and set a personal record. The jump qualified him for the state championships.  


Patrick Jacobson, Dallastown, sr. 

The Wildcats senior won his second straight league title in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:33.94. He topped that at the District 3 Class 3A meet with a time of 4:22.70, taking fifth place and qualifying for states. 


Jerome Jessup, Red Lion, so.

The sophomore won the 200-meter dash at the league meet and followed it up by taking third at the District 3 Class 3A meet with a time of 22.40 seconds. He competed at states, and also took fourth place in the 100-meter dash at the league meet. 


Seth Leonard, Delone Catholic, jr. 

Leonard established himself as the top javelin thrower in the league, setting a Delone Catholic record with a mark of 174 feet, 4 inches early in the season. He missed the league meet, but won gold in Class 2A at districts and competed at the PIAA championships. 


Nathan Lopez, Eastern York, sr. 

Lopez won a gold medal in the 800-meter run at the YAIAA championships in 1:56.74. He topped that at the District 3 Class 3A meet with a time of 1:55.64 to take second and qualify for states.  


Drew Hartlaub, South Western, sr. 

The top sprinter in the league, Hartlaub took gold in the 100-meter dash at the league meet with a time of 10.87 seconds. He then took fourth in Class 3A at the District 3 meet and reached the semifinals at the PIAA championships. He was also a part of South Western's 400-meter relay, which took second at districts and eighth at states. 


Coach of the Year

Brandon Guiher, Gettysburg

Despite two-time state champion triple jumper Ravaughn Dillard transferring out of state, the Warriors didn't miss a beat. Guiher guided Gettysburg to an undefeated dual meet season and the Division II title. The Warriors beat a strong York Suburban team, 83-67, to win their division.
