Friday's boys' track and field roundup: Feulmer, Anderson earn first-place finishes at Millersville Invitational

Here are Friday's York/Adams boys' track and field results.

MILLERSVILLE INVITATIONAL >> Spring Grove's Shay Feulmer took first place in the 100, crossing the line in 11.23 at the Millersville Invitational. William Penn's Larell Anderson also pulled out a victory, coming away victorious in the 300 hurdles in 40.43.

Anderson and Feulmer were the only YAIAA athletes to take home first-place finishes. Feulmer helped the Rocket 400 relay team to a third-place finish in 44.39. He ran with Adam Warehime, Devin Wherley and Justin Johnson. Another Rocket, Justin Culp performed well, finishing fourth in the 1,600 and third in the 800.

Anderson's Bearcats teammate Deshaun Horton also took home a pair of second-place finishes, leaping 21-4 1/2 in the long jump and then jumping 42-11 in the triple jump. Ohadji Diggs finished seventh in the 200 and was on the William Penn 3,200 relay team after competing earlier in the day in Philadelphia at the Penn Relays on William Penn's 400 relay team with Anderson.

Gettysburg sent a large contingent of athletes. In the javelin, Wade Laudeman and teammate Dalton Lyons finished second and third with tosses of 159-10 and 158-8, respectively. Teammate Nathan Sharrah finished second in the pole vault, clearing 13-6.

Northeastern's Taemar Willis finished third in the 110 hurdles, and Red Lion's Ethan Gatchell took second in the 1,600.

PENN RELAYS >> Four teams took part in the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday at the University of Pennsylvania. William Penn, Red Lion and Central York competed in the large schools 400 relay while South Western competed in the same event, but in the small schools division. New Oxford's Aaron Gebhart was one of 25 runners chosen to participate in the high school 3,000 meter run but was unable to compete because of an injury.

William Penn had the best showing, finishing 52nd out of 257 teams with the quartet of Edgar Centeno, Ohadji Diggs, Zachariah Ingram and Larell Anderson finishing in 44.37. Red Lion finished 84th in 44.80 with James Jackson, Paul Jones, Nate Orji and Quincy Palmer running for the Lions. Central York finished in 235th in 47.56. Jamaica's Kingston College High School won in 41.12.

In the small school event, St. Jago, Jamaica won in 41.30 while South Western's foursome of Brady Thayer, Noah Staub, Tanner Furhman and Drew Hartlaub came across the line in 45.52, good for 113th in the 316 team field.
