District 3 team tennis: South Western moves on

Ben Sentz and Gavin Kenny carried South Western to an opening-round win against Palmyra in the District 3 Class AAA boys' tennis team tournament.

Sentz opened the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Ben Rusling, while Gavin Kenny battled in a three-set win against Eric Kohl, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

The Mustangs sealed the match with doubles wins by the team of Ryan Hohman-Jacob Biondo and Ethan Garrett-Vince Guy.

South Western will face Lower Dauphin in a 12:45 p.m. start Tuesday at Hershey Racquet Club. After a first-round bye, YAIAA Division I regular season champion Dallastown faces Manheim Central.

Also in the first round, New Oxford struggled against Manheim Township, with the Blue Streaks picking up a 5-0 victory against the Colonials.
