Elder named tournament MVP as Central York tennis wins Buckskins Invitational
CENTRAL YORK WINS BUCKSKINS INVITATIONAL >> The Panthers were just one win away from sweeping the entire Buckskins Invitational on Saturday at Conestoga Valley.
Yvonne Peters-Washington, Madison Mummert, Jen Elder, Sophie Brink and Sarah Donner each won two singles matches to claim their bracket championship. Elisabeth Ketterman and Kate Risser won their doubles bracket. Kara Hollan and Abby Jovich made it to the finals of their bracket before falling to Lower Dauphin.
Elder was named tournament MVP after battling to victories of 6-4, 7-5 and 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Peters-Washington was also named to the all-tournament team for her sweep of the No. 1 singles field.
