Wednesday's boys' tennis roundup: Delone Catholic defeats Biglerville

DELONE CATHOLIC 4, BIGLERVILLE 3 >> In a match suspended because of rain, Delone Catholic came out on top thanks to a victory at No. 2 doubles by Rob McGough and Allen Sweeney.

Nate Newberry and Kraig Freeman each won in singles action for the Canners and then teamed for a doubles victory. Delone received three singles victories thanks to a forfeit at number five as well as wins by McGough and Jesse Coglan, each in three sets.

Doubles — Newberry-Freeman, Big, def. Statuto-Rath, 6-4, 6-2. McGough-Allen Sweeney, DC, def. Himes-May, 7-6 (5), 6-3.

HEMPFIELD 7, SOUTH WESTERN 0 >> The Black Knights did not drop a set. Ben Harrison came close to taking a set for South Western as he forced tiebreakers against Jay Cooke, but came up short, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
