William Penn's playoff hopes end

 Deshawn Millington scored 22 points and Jordan Purcell added 20, leading Carlisle to a 69-54 victory against William Penn  in the District 3 Class AAAA opening round.

The loss ended the Bearcats season at 12-11 and put an end to their run at a third straight District 3 Class AAAA championship.

Kristopher Johnson led the visitors with 22 points, while Montrel Morgan added 11.

Carlisle jumped out to a big lead early, leading 18-6 after one quarter and stretching that lead to 31-18 at the break.
