Boys' hoops: Northeastern tops West York in OT


Northeastern needed to overcome a five-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, but the Bobcats outscored West York to force overtime and walked away with a 58-57 victory to finish the regular season with a perfect mark in YAIAA Division II action.

The Bulldogs led 44-39 after three quarters, but the Bobcats outscored West York, 11-6, in the fourth quarter.

Kobi Nwandu led the Bobcats (19-1, 14-0) with 24 points, 16 of those coming after halftime. Brandon Coleman added 11 points. Fred Mulbah came up clutch in overtime, scoring four points, including going 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Mulbah accounted half of Northeastern's overtime offense.

West York's Josh Bailey scored a team-high 14 points. Matt DellOrfano chipped in with 12 points, and Kenton Meckley added 11 points for West York (9-5, 12-7).

Central York 62, Red Lion 49: Jared Wagner scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Panthers' balanced offense. Courtney Batts added 16 points and Onterio Edmonds added 14.

Kendrick Boyd-Gillespie led the Lions with 15.

Hanover 69, Fairfield 43: Kyle Krout scored 30 points, and in the process reached 1,000 career points in the Nighthawks' victory. Krout is the seventh boy to crack 1,000 career points at Hanover. Dylan Krieger, a 2015 graduate, set the school scoring record with 1,408 points.

Hanover's Hunter Martz scored 18 points as he hit five 3-pointers.

The Knights received a team-high 11 points from Tristen Griffith.

Red Lion Christian 51, Heritage Christian 48: The Swordsmen jumped out to a 28-13 halftime lead then held off a Jordan Crews-led charge.

Tate Pendell led the Swordsmen with 18 points. Crews scored a game-high 28 points, 18 of those coming from beyond the 3-point arc. Heritage outscored Red Lion Christian, 20-13, in the fourth but could not force overtime.
