Central York Tip-Off Tournament

Central York's Jared Wagner scored a game-high 21 points, and Nathan Markey added 12 to carry the Panthers to a 61-41 victory against Eastern in the championship of their tip-off tournament at home Saturday night.

The Panthers knocked down three straight 3-pointers in the opening 1:12 of the game and ran out to a 16-2 first-quarter lead. Eastern managed to cut the deficit to 12 on a Broguen Nicholas 3-pointer with 6:37 to play, but Central scored 17 of the game's final 26 points to seal the win.

Eastern's Nicholas scored a team-high 11 points as the Golden Knights struggled to overcome a first quarter when they shot 1-for-10 from the floor.

Conestoga Christian 57, Christian School of York 41: Daniel Boyer torched the Crusaders for 28 points as he led his team to the championship win.

Anthony Torreullas led Christian School of York in scoring for a second consecutive night as he scored 17 points, 13 of which came from the foul line.

Trinity 71, York Catholic 64: A 23-point fourth quarter and a 20=point day from Melik Martin weren't enough for the Fighting Irish in a non-conference loss to the Shamrocks.

Trinity worked to a 15-point halftime lead, and the teams matched each other with 16-point third quarters before the Fighting Irish closed the gap. The Shamrocks spread the scoring around, getting double digits from Tim Edwards (20 points), Austin Gilbertson (17), Sean Good (16) and Jack Vukelich.

DeAndre Davis added 13 points for York Catholic, and Andrew Forjan scored 12.

Along with McMillion's 14 points, Nick Voltaggio notched 12 points while Nick Tannura and Adam Hedgeland each had 11. The Bolts were led by Avery Eyler’s 11 points in the free throw-heavy contest.

The teams combined to score 42 points from the free-throw line on 62 attempts.
