Friday's baseball roundup: Shimmel gives Eastern York walk-off win; West York clinches at least share of title

EASTERN YORK 5, GETTYSBURG 4 >> Colby Shimmel hit a single with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, giving the Golden Knights a walk-off win against Gettysburg.

Shimmel finished the game 2-for-4 and also had a double. Matt Taylor went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs for the Golden Knights (9-4 overall, 9-1 YAIAA Division III), in the back-and-forth affair.

The Warriors (6-6, 6-4) received two hits and two RBIs from Luke Wlazlak in the loss.

DALLASTOWN 3, SOUTH WESTERN 0 >> Andrew Stambaugh lost his no-hitter in the top of the seventh on an Austin Weaver single in the Wildcats' home win.

Stambaugh struck out seven batters and walked three. He know has back-to-back one-hit complete-game shutouts for Dallastown, both by identical 3-0 scores.

Bryant Holtzapple had two hits for Dallastown, including a triple that drove in Cody Somerville in the first inning for what would be the game's winning run.

Traettino added a pair of doubles, two runs scored and five RBIs, while Stover added two runs and three RBIs. The win gave the Bulldogs at least a share of the YAIAA Division II crown.

Cole Measley and Josh Bakalyar each doubled for the Rams in the loss.

Alec Corbin led the Eagles with a 3-for-4 showing at the plate with a run and three RBIs.

Caleb Baughman pitched a complete-game for York Suburban with nine strikeouts and two walks. The Eagles' Clayton Hoff took the loss after the Trojan hitters got to him in the sixth.

Hoff finished with eight strikeouts and a walk.
