Tuesday's baseball roundup: Eastern York's Knarr strikes out 17 in no-hit win


Brandon Knarr threw a gem for Eastern York on Tuesday, twirling a no-hitter while striking out 17 batters to earn a 3-0 win against Bermudian Springs.

All but one of the Eagles' 18 outs came via strikeout for Knarr, who threw an efficient 98 pitches, 61 of them for strikes. Knarr walked just three Bermudian batters.

Eastern's Matt Taylor went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead the offense.

The game was called after six innings because of rain.

The Rams never trailed in the game, but they found themselves tied at 5, 7 and 8 all before they used a four-run sixth inning to put the game on ice.

Levi Murphy went 3-for-3 with two runs and three-run home run in the third inning to lead the Eagles.
