YAIAA top performers, May 11


Delone Catholic laid it on York Catholic offensively as both of games of their doubleheader sweep ended in just three innings. The Squirettes took down the Fighting Irish, 20-2, in Game 1 and then followed that with a 16-1 win in the second.

Shelbee Holcomb hit a home run in both games for Delone as she finished her night with seven hits. Katie Laughman also finished with seven hits and had two doubles.

Softball

Central York’s Courtney Coppersmith pitched a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts in the Panthers' 5-0 win over New Oxford. With the win, Central claims at least a share of the Division I title. ... Amanda Dyson went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in Littlestown's 10-0 win over Fairfield.

Baseball

Beau Burris struck out 10 in Central York's 7-1 win over New Oxford. ... Dallastown’s Riley Hamberger threw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Wildcats edged out Red Lion, 3-0.

Girls' lacrosse

Raleigh Bateman scored five goals and added two assists, while Braxtin Reddinger added three helpers to go with four goals in New Oxford's 22-12 win over Spring Grove. The win marked the first 10-win season in Colonial history. Jordyn Miller had six goals for the Rockets.
