Monday's YAIAA top performers: April 25


It was a big day on the diamond as two YAIAA athletes put up some impressive numbers. In softball, South Western's Bailey Moses missed hitting for the cycle by a double, but she did manage to homer, triple and single while going 3-for-3. In baseball, Eastern York junior Brandon Knarr struck out 19 Biglerville batters in the Golden Knights' 8-0 win over the Canners. In addition to the 19 strikeouts, Knarr allowed just two hits in the shutout.

Also of note, Kennard-Dale's Amber Belt hit two home runs in the Rams' 19-1 victory over Hanover.

Baseball

Dover's Nick Morrett went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs in the Eagles' 7-6 upset win in eight innings over Spring Grove. ... Riley Hamberger struck out seven and hit a two-run triple in Dallastown's 9-1 win over Northeastern.

Boys' tennis

Clinched: York Catholic earned a share of the Division II title with a 7-0 shutout against Biglerville in the regular-season finale. The Fighting Irish will share the title with Littlestown and Gettysburg.

York Suburban received doubles victories at No. 1 (Tyr Abendschoen and Shobit Khurana) and No. 2 (Tom Platts and Jacob Arbetman) to defeat Dover, 4-3, after trailing at the conclusion of singles action.

Boys' volleyball

Kyle Wooldridge smashed home 18 kills in Kennard-Dale's 3-0 sweep of Lititz Christian.

Softball

Dover's Natalie Cutright went 3-for-4 with two doubles, six RBIs and two runs scored in the Eagles' 17-9 win over Spring Grove. ... South Western's Moses went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, home run and three runs scored in the Mustangs' 7-3 win over Gettysburg. ... Dallastown's Krista Flemmens hit a grand slam in the Wildcats' 14-2 win over Northeastern in five innings.
