YAIAA top performers: April 15-16


In Friday's softball action, Rachel Butler earned the top performer spot for the weekend as she threw a no-hitter in a 2-0 win against Red Lion. She tallied seven strikeouts from the pitching circle in the dominant performance.

Here is a look at the other top performers from Friday and Saturday.

Boys' lacrosse

Central York's Connor Hoch netted five goals on Friday in the Panthers' 14-1 win against Northern York.

New Oxford’s John Wilson scored six goals and added six assists over two games during the Colonials’ own tournament Saturday. Matt Botler also scored six goals as the Colonials lost to Francis Scott Key, 12-7, before rebounding to beat Lancaster Mennonite, 16-6, in the consolation game.

Softball

On Friday, Katie Laughman terrorized Camp Hill pitchers as she had four hits, including a home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning, as the Squirettes cruised to the 11-1 win in five innings. Maggie Rickrode also had a big game for Delone as she was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate with a home run, triple and four RBIs.

Girls' lacrosse

Dallastown's Melissa Clapsaddle's four-goal performance wasn't enough as the Wildcats fell to Central Dauphin, 17-8, on Saturday.
