Susky ousts Central/Dallastown from CPIHL tourney

Hayden Folfas made 35 saves and Nathan Smith had two goals and an assist Wednesday as Susquehannock scored two third-period goals to beat Central York/Dallastown, 5-3, in an elimination game in the CPIHL Tier 3 tournament.

Susquehannock will face Penn Manor in another elimination game Friday. The winner of that game will meet MSMCC on March 5 for the Tier 3 championship's Rothrock Cup at Hersheypark Arena. MSMCC beat Penn Manor, 5-3, in a semifinal Wednesday in the double-elimination tournament.

Nathan Smith scored both of his goals in the first period to put Susquehannock ahead 2-0. Central York/Dallastown pulled even by the end of the second period, scoring twice in the final minute of the period to force a 3-all tie entering the final period.

Susquehannock needed just 1:16 to break the tie as Timothy Schwensen scored off assists from Cody Smith and Nathan Smith. Bryan McGillin added an insurance tally with about five minutes to play.

Brandon Heath, Alan Reider and Harrison Batt each scored for Central York/Dallastown, while Griffin Long made 22 saves.
