FIELD HOCKEY: Huffman's late goal leads Palmyra to District 3 title

The drama was building in Hershey, as more than 55 minutes came and went in the District 3 Class AAA field hockey title game between Palmyra and Penn Manor without a score. With 4:43 left in the game, Erin Huffman broke the tie, and scored the lone goal in the game to lift Palmyra to the District 3 title.

"It's like no other (feeling)," Huffman said following the game. "You can't (duplicate) that feeling."

The Cougars, who avenged their loss to the Comets in the regular season, will play a first-round state tournament game on Tuesday against an undetermined opponent.

After sharing the state title last year with Penn Manor, winning the District 3 title this year helped to take the sting away from last year's result for Palmyra.

"We're done sharing," said Palmyra head coach Kristi Costello.
