H.S. SOCCER: Cedar Crest handles McCaskey at home, 3-1


The Cedar Crest boys' soccer team netted three first-half goals and collected its second win of the season Wednesday in a 3-1 home triumph over McCaskey. Hunter Craig, Charles Wenzler and Chad Ryland all scored before the break to help the Falcons (2-7, 1-5 Section One) pick up their second win in their last three games. Jake Beard and Josh Wildonger each made three saves in goal, surrendering only a second-half score to Dilli Subedi.

SOLANCO 5, LEBANON 3>> A 2-2 early in the second half was broken by three more Golden Mule goals and Solanco held on for a 5-3 home win over the Cedars. Vicente Reyes recorded Lebanon's only first-half score, before Bryan Boissard and Felix Kortright joined the party after intermission. The Cedars fell to 0-9 on the season and 0-6 in section play.

Girls' Soccer

CEDAR CREST 3, MCCASKEY 1>> The Falcons improved to 4-4-1 with a road win in Lancaster, after receiving two goals from Carli Wasson and another from Ariel Jones. CeCe Fiorentino and Alex Burrows each earned an assist. Cedar Crest will next visit Ephrata Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

SOLANCO 4, LEBANON 2>> Madison Hartman netted a pair of goals after halftime, but it was too little, too late for the Cedars at home against the Golden Mules. Lebanon tied Solanco with a dozen shots, while keeper Vanessa Valentin secured six stops.
