Lebanon area golfers struggle at districts

Golf is a humbling game. On Friday, it humbled Lebanon County's five entrants in the District 3 Golf Championships at Briarwood in York.

All five county competitors - Elco's Cody Tobias and Cedar Crest's Nolan Hoover on the boys side, and Northern Lebanon's Amber Kintzer, Elco's Danika Boltz and Palmyra's Kelsey McConaghy for the girls - were unable to make the cut for Saturday's second round and were eliminated.

In AAA boys action at par 72 Briarwood East, where the top 32 advanced, Hoover shot an 84 to tie for 47th, while Lebanon County champ Tobias carded an 88 that left him tied for 62nd.

And at Briarwood West, for the AAA girls, Kintzer and McConaghy finished tied for 32nd after shooting 102. Boltz shot 110 and finished 17th in AA.
