Outlook: Last winter, a select group of Vikings took their school on a wild ride rife with drama and postseason success.

Now many of those players are back, having swapping sneakers for shin guards and dribbling with their hands in favor of their feet. But the aim remains ever the same: make the playoffs and some noise along the way.

"We want to go to the postseason," Northern Lebanon coach Lindsey Rayman said. "Last year we had the ability and were never out of any game. I just don't think the girls believed that they could do it.

"This year, the girls think they can. I think they think they can do better, and that's going to be huge."

Megan Brandt and Jenna Wentling again lead a balanced Vikings squad, as well as a cohesive upperclassmen group that's demonstrated some of the finest player leadership of Rayman's tenure. Considering the depth from back to front and collective experience, Northern Lebanon is as prime a candidate as any to make a sizable jump this season.

After all, their recently adopted team slogan tells you everything you need to know.

"This is our time."
