Palmyra's Culver 10th in 500 free at states


Palmyra's Teag Culver wrapped up a distinguished scholastic swimming career on Saturday in the PIAA State Championships at Bucknell University.

Culver's final appearance in the pool for the Cougars featured a 10th place finish in the Boys Class AA 500-yard freestyle in 4:45.10 and an 11th-place effort in the 400-yard freestyle relay along with teammates Joshua Wakefield, Ryan James and Tanner Yaw. The Cougars quartet posted a time of 3:19.39 in the final event of the day.

Also on Saturday, Wakefield ended his career with a 25th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.56 seconds, while fellow senior Adam Fox of Annville-Cleona was 29th in the event in 50.06 seconds.

Fox's A-C teammate, Cole Connelly, rounded out the efforts of the Lebanon County contingent by placing 32nd in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.24.
