Lebanon, Cedar Crest boys both victorious


It appears the Lebanon High and Cedar Crest boys basketball teams are ready for what lies ahead in the new year.

The Cedars and Falcons wrapped up the 2016 portion of their seasons on Friday night, concluding 2-0 trips through Cedar Crest's holiday showcase event with wins over Camp Hill and Cedar Cliff, respectively.

Lebanon opened the night with a 68-44 beatdown of Camp Hill behind 19 points from Luis Aquino-Rios, while Crest squeaked out a 41-39 win over Cedar Cliff with the help of 17 points from Blake Thomson.

With the wins, Lebanon and Cedar Crest both improved to 6-2 heading into the resumption of Lancaster-Lebanon Section One play on Tuesday.

The host Raiders went 4-1 on the day, losing only to Twin Valley in their final match of the day. Palmyra and Lebanon also competed in the event.

Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament

Led by Ross Fisher's victory at 285, Cedar Crest placed 14th out of 19 teams. Also placing for the Falcons were Dylan Holland (182, 4th), Ryan Scicchitano (132, 5th) and Christopher Byler (126, 6th).
