Roundup: Elco boys handle Annville-Cleona, 61-30


A 25-6 opening quarter vaulted the Elco boys basketball team to a blowout home win Wednesday over Annville-Cleona, 60-31. The Raiders (14-2, 8-2 Lancaster-Lebanon) produced eight different scorers, who were led by Caleb Buchmoyer and his 18 points. Big man Ryan Eshleman finished behind the senior Buchmoyer with 10 points, while three teammates scored at least seven.

The Little Dutchmen (5-11, 3-7) were boosted by Noah Myers' 10 points and a pair of 3-pointers from Ryan Mathews. They attempted only four free throws on the night and were held to 10 points at halftime.

Cedar Crest 66, Elizabethtown 46: The Falcons (13-2, 9-1) pulled away with a 23-point fourth quarter at home to win their ninth straight. Evan Horn notched a game-high 19 points, while Cole Laney pocketed 16. Cedar Crest will travel to rival Lebanon on Friday night.

Manheim Central 51, Lebanon Catholic 32: Despite holding the Barons down early, the Beavers (2-13, 0-10) failed to keep close enough in Section 3-4 crossover play. Manheim Central's Taylor Funk dropped a game-best 20 points, while Lebanon Catholic's Humberto Valerio and Davian Perez scored 12 and 11, respectively.
