The Annville-Cleona boys basketball team got its 2016-17 season off on the right foot on Friday night, handling Brandywine Heights 50-33 in the opening round of the Hamburg Tip-Off Tournament.
Noah Myers led all scorers with 18 points, and Donald Friday added 12 as A-C jumped to a 20-8 first quarter lead and never relinquished control.
A-C will meet the winner of the Hamburg-Northern Lehigh contest in Saturday's 7:30 p.m. title game.

Palmyra 72, Susquehannock 34
In the opening round of the Donegal tip-off tourney, Palmyra enjoyed a blowout victory with the help of 17 points from Bryant Willis.
Isaac Blatt and Nick Jelliff added 13 points apiece for the Cougars, who stormed to a 38-14 halftime lead, then erupted for 24 points in the third quarter to really open up some distance.
Palmyra will meet host Donegal, a 58-46 winner over Northern Lebanon, in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

In the nightcap at Donegal, the Vikings were held to five points in the third quarter en route to the season-opening defeat.
Caleb Light led Northern Lebanon with 17 points and Cameron Gensler and Michigan Daub added 10 apiece for the Vikings.
Lebanon Christian 46, Valley Forge Baptist 40
Brock Monk pumped in 21 points to lead the Panthers to the season-opening win.
LCA led 24-10 at the half, before surviving a spirited comeback bid from Valley Forge.

Cedar Crest 61, East Pennsboro 44
In the opening round of the Cedar Cliff tip-off, Ariel Jones exploded for 28 points to send the Falcons into the tourney title game against the host Colts.
Alyssa Austin added 14 points and Rachel Witherite checked in with Cedar Crest, which outscored the Panthers 29-11 in the second half after trailing 33-32 at the half.
Annville-Cleona 38, Tri Valley 23
In Hamburg, A-c won their opener in the Hawks' tip-off event with the help of a game-high 11 points from Chloe Inman.
Morgan Zimmerman added 10 points for the Dutchmen, who will meet Hamburg in Saturday's 4:30 p.m. championship game.
Elco 53, Boiling Springs 27
In the Middletown tourney opener, the Raiders rolled to the easy victory to set up a championship clash with the hosts.
No details on the Elco win were available as of 11 p.m. Friday night.
Manheim Township 56, Lebanon 7
The Cedars were routed in the opener of the Red Lion tip-off event, digging a 22-2 first quarter hole that only got bigger as the night went on.
