EPHRATA- Penn Manor punched its ticket to the L-L League Championship Game Tuesday night after edging out Ephrata, 2-1 at War Memorial Field.

Both of Penn Manor's runs came in situations where they had the bases loaded and Ephrata gave the ensuing Comets’ batter a free pass to first, which brought in a runner to score.

The Comets took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth when they loaded the bases and starting pitcher Adam Schwartz walked Eric Snyder to bring in Nate Brown.

Pen Manor’s insurance run would come at the top of the sixth when relief pitcher made Nate Fassnacht plunked Grant Gale with the bases juiced, which scored pinch-runner Dalton Landis.

Ephrata would make a last ditch effort in the bottom of the sixth when Fassnacht stole home to make it a one-run ballgame.

However, Comets Picture Jeff Taylor closed the door on the Mounts in the bottom of the seventh and secured the win.

In seven innings, Taylor allowed just three hits while striking out eight and walking one.

Tuesday’s win grants Penn Manor a date with Solanco in the L-L title game back at War Memorial Field. The Mules defeated Elco 3-0 in their semifinal match up Tuesday.

Penn Manor’s last league championship came in 2009 while the Mules haven't won a L-L title since 2007.
