Northern Lebanon drops critical game at Cocalico


The Northern Lebanon baseball team left itself little breathing room in the Section Three race, falling Monday at Cocalico, 3-2. Isaac Wengert took the loss on the hill, posting five strikeouts and five walks. Alec Sherk got the win and surrendered only one run in the second and fourth innings to the Vikings. Northern Lebanon mustered only five hits, while recording two errors in the field.

Jordan Nichols clubbed a double and will be relied upon, along with fellow senior southpaw Wyatt Beakler, in the Vikings' key upcoming stretch with a game Wednesday against Manheim Central and a Friday test versus Donegal.

WARWICK 2, CEDAR CREST 0>> The Falcons were shut out at home and collected only four hits off Zach Peters. Austin Double struck our four in a tough loss, as the Warriors scored twice in the fifth inning.

PALMYRA 2, CD EAST 1>> The Cougars moved above .500 with a division road win. Nick DeCarlo went 3-for-3 for Palmyra, which took four hits from other players. Sophomore Isaac Blatt tossed a gem, scattering six hits and recording eight strikeouts. Both teams committed one error.
