Palmyra boys lacrosse 13, Central Dauphin 11

Down one heading into the fourth quarter, the Cougars rallied on the road to claim their fourth straight win and second in as many days. Palmyra worked behind five different goal scorers in the division clash, less than 24 hours after besting Red Lion in overtime. Cougars attack Ethan Gain led all players with seven points, while Nick Sherriff made a half-dozen saves, two more than teammate Anthony Bressi.

Palmyra (8-4, 2-0 Mid-Penn Keystone) next hosts Hershey on Thursday in another critical showdown. The Trojans (10-2, 4-0) currently sit in first place in the Mid-Penn Keystone.

Player of the day

Ethan Gain, Palmyra 

Gain matched a season-high with five goals and tallied a pair of assists during arguably the Cougars' biggest game of the season to date. He last netted five scores on the road at Garden Spot and has notched at least four points in each stop of Palmyra's recent win streak. The junior is up to 25 goals and 19 assists on the season.

Softball

Oley Valley 6, Northern Lebanon 5

The Vikings surrendered the tying and go-ahead runs during the top of the seventh and couldn't answer during a rescheduled non-league game. Each team recorded 11 hits and four errors. Northern Lebanon's Melanie Showers went the distance in the circle.

Boys volleyball

Hempfield 3, Cedar Crest 0

A trip to Landisville proved unkind to the Falcons, who fell 11-25, 10-25 and 7-25 in a league contest. Cedar Crest's Nick Rivera fired four kills and Adam Rakow rose up for three blocks.

Lancaster Mennonite 3, Lebanon 0

In Lebanon, the Cedars dropped straight sets, 13-25, 17-25 and 12-25. Lebanon's Paul Heagy dealt the most damage with eight kills, eight blocks and four aces.

Girls lacrosse

Elizabethtown 12, Cedar Crest 7

Ten first-half goals did the Falcons in at E-town, where they fell behind 10-4 at the break. Abbey Castor earned Cedar Crest's only hat trick, while Avery Stoddard and Maddie Barron each finished with two points.

Central Dauphin 17, Palmyra 7

In Palmyra, the Cougars failed to slow their visitors, who deposited eight goals before halftime and nine post-intermission. Palmyra goalie Riley Cook made nine saves, and Cheyenne Sprecher piled up four goals.

Girls track

Hershey 103, Palmyra 47

Success in the field events was not enough to propel the Cougars to victory in a league meet dominated by the hosting Trojans. Palmyra's Jess Dembrowski won the 800, while Camryn Simpson took the long and triple jumps.
