SWIMMING: Trojans complete sweep
CHAMBERSBURG - The Chambersburg boys and girls swim teams swept Mifflin County in dominant fashion, beating the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division opponents 107-61 and 114-41, respectively.
The Trojans won 16 of 22 total events between boys and girls, and placed at least second in all but one event on the day.
"This was our senior meet and it was a lot of fun and an honor to recognize our senior members," Chambersburg coach Chad White said. "And it was another opportunity to qualify for Mid Penns."
For the boys (5-5, 2-4 MPC), Avery Barley claimed two first-places, in the 100 and 400 freestyle, finishing in 57.01 and 4:27.69 respectively.
For the girls (3-7, 2-5 MPC) Ashlyn Ellis took home gold in the 100 butterfly (1:19.15) and the 200 IM (2:44.97), while Erika Rundquist earned first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke and the 400 freestyle with finishing times of 1:17.71 and 5:02.52.
"Both those girls continue to swim best at dual meets," White said. "It was the first time for Erika in the 400 freestyle and she got a really good time there. We are thinking about letting her compete that at Mid Penns now."

Shippensburg sweeps East Pennsboro: The Shippensburg boys and girls swim teams swept Mid Penn Colonial Division foe East Pennsboro, by a score of 127-35 for the boys, and 102-68 on the girls side.
Shippensburg won 15 of 22 total events, with the boys (5-7, 2-3 MPC) claiming first place in nine of 11 boys events.
Caleb Eveland took first in the 100 fly and the 100 back, finishing in 1:02.42 and 1:02.42, respectively.
For the girls (7-5, 2-3 MPC) Jordan Seymore took home gold in the 200 (2:19.03) and 500 (6:01.61) freestyle races.
