Waynesboro alumnus Forrest Rhyne represented Pennsylvania in the 60th Big 33 Football Classic on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Landis Field in Harrisburg, PA.

Rhyne aided PA to a 44-33 win over Maryland, contributing two tackles and work on special teams.

After spending a week with the top football players and coaches from around Pennsylvania, Rhyne said his experience with Big 33 was great, and opened his eyes to new experiences.

All-stars from across PA and MD had special needs buddies throughout the week, stayed with host families in the Harrisburg area, and spent time giving back to the community.

"Getting to hang out with the buddies was great, and it opened my eyes to things I've never seen before," Rhyne said. "I've been involved with special needs programs before, but it was different to have somebody look up to you as much as they did this week."

Rhyne said the team also visited a Veterans Hospital and talked with Big 33 honorary chairmen Jordan Hill (Penn State alum, player for the Detroit Lions) and Noah Spence (linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers), who encouraged athletes to get their degree and outwork everyone on the way.

"There's a lot to learn from guys like that, they have so much experience, so it was a great time," Rhyne said.
