ETHAN BARCLAY, McConnellsburg boys soccer: Barclay netted a 60-yard direct kick during a District 5 Class 1A quarterfinal victory over North Star.

ELI BLACK, Cumberland Valley Christian boys soccer: Black had 26 saves on the weekend as CVC claimed the consolation prize at the NACA Soccer Tournament. He was named the tournament’s standout goalkeeper.

BRADY BECKNER, Waynesboro football: Beckner had three scores in a variety of ways in the Indians' win over James Buchanan. He led the ground game with 131 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and he also had a receiving touchdown.

CHAD BUNCH, McConnellsburg boys soccer: Bunch scored a hat trick on a few wonky plays in a decisive District 5 Class 1A victory over North Star, scoring once on an open net and another on a rebound from his own shot.

ANDREW FELDMAN, Chambersburg boys cross country: Feldman squeezed into one of the final PIAA qualifying spots with a 28th-place finish at the District 3 Class 3A meet last weekend. He clocked in at 16:26 earned him a trip to his first state-level event.

KYLER GOSHORN, Fannett-Metal boys soccer: Goshorn netted the game-winning goal in a District 5 Class 1A quarterfinal game against Hyndman, leading the Tigers to another rivalry rematch against McConnellsburg in the semifinal.

LAUREN HIRNEISEN, Greencastle-Antrim girls cross country: Hirneisen claimed a fifth-place finish with a time of 19:40 at the District 3 championships last week to qualify for the PIAA cross country meet.

DALTON LEAB, James Buchanan boys cross country: Leab nabbed an fifth-place finish (16:55) at the District 3 Class 2A cross country championship to punch his ticket to the PIAA meet, Saturday.

MIKELL MCGEE, Fannett-Metal boys soccer: The area’s leading scorer played hero in the District 5 Class 1A semifinal game to complete a 3-2 upset over McConnellsburg and punch the Tigers’ ticket to its first district final since 2011.

JACKSON PARK, Cumberland Valley Christian boys soccer: Park scored a pair of goals in the consolation game of the NACA Soccer Tournament, as the Blazers took home the third-place trophy.

KELLYN PERRY, McConnellsburg girls soccer: Perry had 16 saves in a 2-1 victory in a District 5 Class 1A quarterfinal game over second-ranked Berlin to move on to the district semifinals.

WYATT THORNE, Fannett-Metal boys soccer: Thorne scored the game-tying goal for the Tigers, leading the way for a second-half comeback to complete a District 5 Class 1A upset over McConnellsburg.

KATELYN TRUAX, McConnellsburg girls volleyball: Truax led the Lady Spartan offense through the District 5 Class 1A tournament, racking up 10 kills in the quarterfinal against Windber, and had seven kills, four blocks, nine digs and two aces in the semifinal versus Meyersdale.
