Boys soccer

McConnellsburg 2, Southern Fulton 0: Nic Culler collected both goals for the Spartans - one in each half. He was assisted by Bryce Kylor in the first half.

McConnellsburg (2-0, 2-0 SHL) led in shots 16-2 and keeper Hunters Souders made two saves.

Shalom Christian 5, Forbes Road 1: The Flames took a 3-0 lead by halftime over the Cardinals. Peter Livermore scored a pair of goals and had an assist to lead Shalom (5-0), Tucker King, Jerry Min and Ian Shank also found the back of the net, and Jonah Stains had two assists.

For Forbes Road (0-2), Cameron McCabe scored the goal and Owen Gilbert made eight saves in goal.

"We started slowly during the first few minutes, but then found our rhythm, especially up top," Flames coach Chris Lehman said. "It was great to get that many players involved in the scoring."

Girls soccer

McConnellsburg 2, Rockwood 0: The Lady Spartans opened their season on a high note, shutting out Rockwood as goalkeeper Kellyn Perry made nine saves. Rebecca Wenschof and Kiara Pensinger each scored a goal and Hannah Brady was credited with an assist.

Girls volleyball

Fannett-Metal 3, Rockwood 0: The Tigers earned game wins of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-16. Ashlynn Murray led F-M (1-2) with seven kills, five blocks and four digs. Emily Metcalfe had six digs and four aces and Haleigh Dunkle connected on seven aces.

Southern Fulton 3, Hancock 0: The Indians won by scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-15 over Hancock. Madison Breeze led SF (2-1) in aces (4) and digs (4), Drew Gordon had five kills, Morgan Fitz had three digs and Tiara Bard had eight assists.

Cumberland Valley Christian 3, Calvary 2: Hunter Timmons racked up 16 kills, and Brianna Miley added 14 in CV Christian’s Mason-Dixon Christian Conference win over Calvary. The defense was especially spread out, with Mackenzie Householder leading the way with 12 digs and Shelby Heckman following right behind with 10 for the Blazers (2-3, 2-3 MDCC).
