SOFTBALL: Tuesday's roundup

GREENCASTLE 10, MIDDLETOWN 0 >> For the second game in a row, Greencastle-Antrim needed just five innings to take down its opponent, this time non-league foe Middletown.

"It was a good win for us; the girls came out from the get-go and played hard all game," Blue Devil coach Mark DeCarli said. "The offense, defense and pitching were all solid today. That's two games in a row that we've played very well, so hopefully we can carry this into districts."

The victory should secure a home game for Greencastle (13-7) in the opening round of playoffs. The Blue Devils were seeded sixth going into the game.

Ally Brown tossed all five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. She walked just one.

Morgan Wagaman had a fine offensive game, going 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and four runs scored. Ali Sherman was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
