SOFTBALL: Tuesday's roundup

FORBES ROAD 4, EVERETT 2 >> Forbes Road's softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out a Sideling Hill League/Inter-County Conference win over Everett on Tuesday.

The Cardinals (8-4, 7-4 SHL, 7-3 ICC) avenged an earlier 10-2 loss to the Warriors.

"Tina Parsons threw a great game," Forbes Road coach Beth Bryant said. "The team played well behind her, and Lillith Wilt had a great bunt late in the game to rattle them."

Both teams opened the game with two runs in the first inning, but neither team got back on the board until the Cardinals scored the go-ahead runs in the sixth. Parsons gave up just two unearned runs in a complete-game performance on five hits with two strikeouts to pick up her first win of the season. She is 1-0.

Olivia Hall finished 3-for-3 with a double, and Courtney Schoen added two RBIs.
