Mercersburg Academy's Tom Cremins signs to play at Holy Cross

Mercersburg Academy senior Tom Cremins, of Hagerstown, Md., signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his lacrosse career at Holy Cross, a Division I program in the Patriot League.

Cremins has led the Blue Storm for three seasons as team captain, and is a two-time All-IPSL and Academic All-MAPL selection in lacrosse. Last season the 6-foot, 180-pound defenseman led Mercersburg to its first winning season since 2006 (9-8).

“Tom has been one of the most important players in the development of our program, on and off the field,” Mercersburg coach Michael Conklin said in a press release. “He told me as an 11th grader that he wants to leave the program in better shape than it was when he first came to Mercersburg, and as a result of his work ethic and leadership, he most certainly will.

"In addition to being our strongest shutdown defender in each of the last two seasons, Tom has been a three-year captain. I am confident that the program at Holy Cross will benefit tremendously from his presence.”

He also played wide receiver and defensive back on the Mercersburg football team, and has competed on the Blue Storm indoor track & field team.
