GREENCASTLE FALLS IN QUARTERFINALS >> Greencastle-Antrim climbed all the way to the quarterfinals of the Gettysburg Tournament before falling to the host Warriors, 25-21.

Keri Gearhart had a fine day for the Blue Devils, finishing with 22 kills, three aces and seven blocks. Sydney Shepherd was a well-rounded force with 15 kills and 22 digs.

Gabby Baughman was the defensive anchor, recording 43 digs to go along with six aces, and Chloe McKenzie totaled 46 assists on the day.

SHALOM TAKES 3RD >> After advancing in pool play, Shalom Christian placed third at the Maryland School for the Deaf Tournament.

The Flames earned a bye to the semifinals, which they lost 2-0 to Heritage. But they came storming back for a victory over Islamic Saudi Academy in the consolation match.

Brooke Kuhns had a fantastic day, leading both the offense and the defense. She had 19 kills and 22 digs. Paige Hoover finished with 10 kills and 19 digs, and Haley Bricker also smacked 17 kills and four blocks.

Kylie Eby racked up 52 and was unstoppable from the service line with 17 aces.

"We love the MSD tournament, as there is always such great competition," Shalom coach Katie Gantz said. "The girls did a great job playing 'their game' against some very tough teams."
