Roundup: Suburban, West York stay perfect


Here are Thursday's York/Adams girls' swimming results. Check back often for results.

York Suburban 64, Susquehannock 30: Carson Gross won a pair of events for the Trojans.

The victory kept the hosts undefeated in YAIAA Division II, improving to 3-0 with meets at Dover and home against West York remaining. The Bulldogs defeated the Eagles on Thursday to remain undefeated.

Gross took first in the 200 free and the 100 free while also swimming on the victorious 200 freestyle relay team.

The Warriors received a win in the 100 back from freshman Katlyn Baer.

West York 93, Dover 77: The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 in YAIAA Division II with just one meet to go, a Feb. 4 showdown with York Suburban.

The Bulldogs held a narrow 81-75 lead entering the final event and were able to clinch the victory when the team of Meghan French, Maelyn Elder, Taylor Hoover, and Maddi Stoner crossed the finish line first.

The quartet was instrumental throughout the rest of the meet as they combined for seven firsts and a second place on the individual level while winning the meet closing 400 free relay and meet opening 200 medley relay.

French took first in the 200 free and 500 free. Elder won the 100 fly and second in the 100 back. Hoover, meanwhile, took first in the 200 IM and 100 breast, while Stoner was victorious in the 50 free and 100 free.

The Eagles' lone victory came in the 200 free relay when the team of Maddi Hetrick, Lindsay Brenneman, Annie Long and Grace Beierschmitt finished first.

Red Lion 102, New Oxford 68: Devin Sevret (200 free, 500 free) and Jessica Sun (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) scored a pair of individual wins to lead the Lions to the Division I victory.

Using its depth, Red Lion was able to score key points, even in events won by the Colonials. New Oxford was paced by Hailey Janocha, who won the 100 free and swam on two victorious relays.

Central York 114, Spring Grove 70: Kayla Swaltek captured first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly races to lead the Panthers to the road win.
