GIRLS SOCCER: Thursday's roundup


SHALOM CHRISTIAN 8, HERITAGE 1 >> Shalom Christian's five-game shutout streak came to an end Thursday, but the girls soccer team continued to remain unbeaten with a big win over Heritage Academy in Mason-Dixon Christian Conference play.

The Flames (11-0, 6-0 MDCC) scored four goals in each half, and Makenzi Maun and Caley Eyler combined for seven saves in the victory.

Tori Yoder led the offense with four goals and an assist. Kendall White had two goals, Lexy Poe scored once and recorded an assist, while Brooke Poe dished out a pair of assists.

"Overall, we communicated well tonight and passed the ball well," Shalom coach Pete Holdaway said. "Tori had a nice game up front, and Brooke Poe played well at center mid. Our defense played well as a unit again tonight."
