SHALOM CHRISTIAN 6, HERITAGE ACADEMY 1 >> Shalom Christian's soccer team got off to a quick start and never looked back in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference win over Heritage on Tuesday.

Tori Yoder gave the Flames (4-0, 2-0 MDCC) a quick lead in the third minute, and the Flames grew the lead to 4-1 by halftime. Shalom then scored two more in the second half to pull away.

"We started off quick tonight with Tori stealing the ball and breaking away," Shalom coach Peter Holdaway said. "We played solid on offense and defense, and it was nice to start out fast."

Yoder finished with three goals and one assist, and Kendall White added two goals. Lexy Poe also had a score, and Lydia Harris, Brooke Emge, Brooke Poe and Sarah Priest all had one assist.

Shalom also picked up a 10-0 non-league win over Carroll Christian on Monday. Emge finished with four goals, and Yoder, Lexy Poe and White all had two. Yoder had two assists, and Emge, Brooke and Lexy Poe all had one.
