GIRLS LACROSSE: Tuesday's roundup

LOWER DAUPHIN 14, CHAMBERSBURG 5 >> Chambersburg's girls lacrosse team trailed by only three goals at halftime in a Mid Penn Conference game against Lower Dauphin on Tuesday night.

But the Falcons quickly picked up the pace to earn the victory.

"We played a strong first half," Trojan coach Katie Feairhellar said. "We had quite a few players out for injuries, and we were lacking in subs. We looked tired in the second half, and that's when they started to pull away. But we played strong and continued to work hard."

Kendyl Stewart had a fine game for Chambersburg (2-3, 1-3 MPC), finishing with a hat trick. Avery Rife and Emily Glennon each contributed a goal.

Alyssa Boock also had a nice night in net, picking up 27 saves.

"Our defense continues to improve," Feairhellar said. "They looked really strong and worked well together. Madison Schmus, Carle Covert, Liza Ernst and Kaylea Garman did a good job slowing down the ball in the first half. They had strong communication and were able to shut down the drives."
