Mifflin County snaps losing skid vs. James Buchanan
Something had to give Friday night.
James Buchanan traveled to Lewistown to play Mifflin County in a Mid Penn Colonial Division football game carrying a 14-game losing streak. The Huskies came in with a 21-game losing skid.
Mifflin County proved to be the dominant team, handing the Rockets a 61-0 defeat.
The Huskies held JB to only 14 yards of offense - 29 carries for one net yard on the ground and 13 yards through the air.
The game was scoreless until Mifflin County (1-3, 1-0 MPC) got a 1-yard run from Drew Williams with 3:06 left in the first period to break the ice. Then, just 15 seconds later, Aaron Wagner picked off a pass and returned it 36 yards for a touchdowns and it was 13-0.
The Huskies put the game away by scoring 27 points in the second period to 40-0 at halftime. Seven different players scored touchdowns for Mifflin County, including Malik Sechler on a 60-yard pass from Williams and a 63-yard punt return.
For the Rockets (0-4, 0-1 MPC), Cormac Houpt ran 11 times for 31 yards.
