13 area girls are MPC field hockey 1st-team all-stars

The Mid Penn Conference released its list of field hockey all-stars this week and 13 area girls were named to first-team status; four in the Commonwealth Division and nine in the Colonial Division.

Chambersburg snagged four honors in the Commonwealth - seniors Kaylea Garman, Madison Schmus and Liza Ernst, and junior Rachel Dusman. Junior Ari Burke was a second-team choice.

In the Colonial, Greencastle-Antrim had three selections, including senior goalie Mackenzie Oberholzer, who earned Co-Player of the Year honors along with Kelly Schulenberger of Big Spring. Also on the first team for the Blue Devils were seniors Jenna Carty and Lauren Cole.

Shippensburg picked up four first-team choices, including seniors Madison Kline and Courtney Coy, junior Morgan Fetter and sophomore Zoe Holtry. Waynesboro had a pair of selections in seniors Katie Wise and Sara Gsell.
